Note: George Hawson was a Farmer and Malster, Parish of Darfield, Wombwell, Yorkshire, England. He was the father of two sons and four daughters. He died in 1866.

First son - George Hawson Junior, a Farmer and Valuer, Hooton Roberts, Yorkshire. He married Julia Garland and they had five sons and five daughters, some details of whom are in handwritten Notes in Ginn/Hawson papers.

Second son - Thomas Hawson Senior who married Hannah Wood. They had three sons and three daughters, details of whom are also in handwritten Notes in Ginn/Hawson papers. Their last child was Thomas Wood Hawson who was the father of Agnes
Mary Dora [sometimes recorded as Dora Mary Agnes] who married William George Ginn. They were the parents of Walter Valentine Ginn who married Merle Agnes Selwood.

Handwritten Descendants Charts have been constructed for the Hawsons. However there has been no information recorded concerning George Hawson's four daughters.

Armstrong 3, John (b. 23 Dec 1856, d. 25 Mar 1936)

Note: John Armstrong 2 and Elizabeth's last born child, John Armstrong 3, was born at Seven Mile Creek, Ipswich, on 23 December 1856. On 28 August 1891 he married Phoebe Mann, born 11 June 1873, died 3 June 1954 at Charleville.

John Armstrong 3 and Phoebe had 13 children -

John C., Robert G., William C., Phoebe A.D., Hugh J., Harry H., Tom A., Eliza N., Eva N., Lilian G., Betty, and twins George M. and Willie F.

On 7 May 1927 Hugh James [Barney] Armstrong married Lyla Irene Pegler and they had children Margaret Irene 1928, Pamela Ann 1929 and Allan Hugh 1932. Hugh's brother Robert George also married a Pegler - Lyla's sister Dorothy Lyla Mary.

On 5 March 1957 Allan Hugh Armstrong married June Margaret Green, daughter of Norman Leslie Green and Elizabeth Ellen [Nell] Richardson.

These three marriages connected the Armstrong and the Richardson and the Pegler families to the Green Family Tree.

There are separate Family History and Family Tree writings for the Peglers, the Richardsons, the Armstrongs and the Greens whose families were all pioneers in the settlement and development of Queensland.

Armstrong 2, John (b. 16 Jan 1810, d. 30 Sep 1895)

Note: John Armstrong 2 was a son of John Armstrong 1 and Jane ANN Parkinson, born on 16 January 1810 at Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. In about 1845,at Irvingston, he married Elizabeth Clarke who was a daughter of John Clarke and Mary Smith and was
born in about 1824 at Fermanagh.

Children born to John and Elizabeth in Northern Ireland were Ann 1846, Eliza 1848 and Mary 1850.

In 1852 the family migrated to Australia, arriving at Moreton Bay on 13 September. Children Ann and Mary died on the voyage.After settling in Queensland further children were born - Ann Jane 1853 and John 1856.

Elizabeth died on 29 December 1859 at Seven Mile Creek, Ipswich Qld and on 12 July 1862 John Armstrong married Harriet Wright, nee Miller. She was born on 15 September 1836 at Cambridge, England, her father was Hugh Miller but no name has been
found for her mother. Harriet arrived in Victoria in about 1848 and later married James Wright. They had two daughters Jane, born 1856 and Rebecca, born 1858 and died 1871.

James Wright died in 1861 and Harriet moved to Queensland where she married John Armstrong 2. Children born to this union were James 1863, William 1865, Thomas 1869 [a twin?], Henry 1871 and Robert [George] 1877. Record has also been found of
Harriet Armstrong, born 1873 and died 1875.

John Armstrong 2 died at Ebenezer Qld on 30 September 1895. Harriet died in Queensland on 26 May 1916.
