The following appeared in the Sydney Morning Herald in 2007 -
"Seeking information about William Henry Keegan [born 1844, East Maitland], married Eliza Cooper [born 1846, Murrurundi] at Murrurundi on 28 April 1865. Their children were William Henry [1866], Mary Ann [1867], Catherine [1868], Bridget
[1871], Eliza Ellen [1873], Edward [1874], John [1876], Jane [1878], Dennis [1882], Blanche [1884], Harriet [1886], and Perlie [1889].
"William and Eliza and their family lived in Narrabri during the late 1880s. The story handed down through the generations is that William Henry went out to buy a loaf of bread and was never heard of again. Eliza Keegan died in Manly in 1935.
"Any information on William Henry or on William and Eliza's descendants would be appreciated".
The contributor was Karlyn Robinson, a Granddaughter of Blanche Keegan.
As Keegan/Cooper/Murrurundi was already part of the Sellwood Family Tree and as William Henry Keegan appeared to be related to John Thomas Keegan, Karlyn Robinson was contacted and the following additional information was supplied by her
showing in fact that WHK and JTK were brothers -
William Henry Keegan married Eliza Cooper in 1865
John Thomas Keegan married Harriet Cooper in 1869
Ellen Keegan married William Cooper in 1871
Robert Edward Keegan married Catherine Cooper in 1874.
The Coopers were all part of the one family.
Date and place of death of William Henry Keegan have not been found.
There is a Pedigree Chart held in Family Tree files which was supplied by Judith Glyn Keegan Donnelly. Her father was Glenas Dorsey Keegan, born 30 October 1917 at Roma Qld, married Grace Hando on 9 May 1940, assumably at Roma Qld. Glenas was a
brother of William Leonard and John Thomas Keegan.
