Gedye, Charles Townsend (b. 1833, d. ?)
Note: When searching records for information regarding Charles Henry Green and his wife Susan M. Green [nee Murnin], 1901 England Census recorded Grace C. Gedye, Widow, aged 51 years, born at Sydney NSW, as being a Visitor at the Greens' home at
Andover at that time.

Further searching revealed that Susan M. Green's sister Grace Clifford Murnin, born in NSW in 1849, had married Charles Townsend Gedye at Parramatta in 1880. There is record of him having previously married Mary H. Wintle in NSW in 1853.
Children born were Laura M. at Paddington in 1854, a female at Newcastle in 1856 and Florence C. at Paddington in 1858. Mary H. Gedye died at Parramatta in 1876.

Charles Townsend Gedye has been found to have been connected to the Green family in yet another way. He was named as an Executor in the Will of Charles H. Green when it was signed on 29 December 1890. His address at that time was 17 Craven Hill
Gardens, Lancaster Gate, London.

Other information found is Charles T. Gedye listed in 1891 England Census as having been born in "about 1833 at Devon, England". That would have made him about 20 years of age at first marriage in 1853, about 47 at second marriage in 1880 and
about 57 in 1890 when he was named as an Executor in Charles H. Green's Will.

Information about Gedye's death has not been found. He probably died in England.

Yerbury, Rosa Alice (b. Sep 1847, d. ?)
Note: Rosa was 23 years of age when she left England and accompanied Robert Le Grand and his wife and family to Australia on the Royal Dane, embarking at Moreton Bay on 2 December 1871. Her name on the passenger list appears simply as Rosa, her
surname of Yerbery not being recorded.

Rosa is mentioned in the letters and notes written by Leona Kennedy as follows -

"Robert Le Grand's world and enthusiasm completely collapsed when his beautiful wife died suddenly [1883, aged 44 years] and unexpectedly after the birth of his seventh son Leo [in 1881]........left with a new born infant and six young boys.

"Suitable housekeepers were non existant. After some time his sister [in fact his sister-in-law Rosa] left her beautiful home and lifestyle and came to live with them. Robert obtained help to do the housework and Rosa directed them in what was
to be done correctly, which..... was exactly like what she was always accustomed to in her own home. They certainly had the house, exquisite furnature and effects necessary......this unique family all born and raised at Milbong."

When Rosa moved into Robert Le Grand's home in order to assist with the raising of his very young family, she had been married to Albert Alexander Henderson for 10 years, had a daughter aged 7 years and had lost a son at childbirth.
